From the makers of www.luxy.co.nz this website, Askken.co.nz, started as research into actual historical selling prices at Metropolis and Quay West and now we have this website to share that same information with owners and potential buyers in an even more comprehensive manner. The research was mostly for buyers based overseas who may more heavily rely on the price per square metre and gain confidence in having as much information as possible. Registration is currently free for owners if you are prepared to receive email from us that may contain paid advertising.

The sales data is provided by QV and automatically updates to Askken.co.nz. We recommend other QV reports as part of your research if you are considering buying any property in New Zealand or  Australia. Reports such as QV's 'E Valuer' provide broad and reliable data on any property title not just the ones at Quay West and Metropolis.

Registrations from owners commenced in 2010 and we are still considering future commercial options for this site, probably paid advertising of some form will be required to fund the site and its data feed from QV. The Real Estate Agents Act 2008 which is now in force means that any real estate agent can only sell your property having first given you, amongst other things, a written appraisal on its value in current conditions. As Askken.co.nz updates automatically it actually is an ongoing appraisal of the price range for these two buildings.

It is very likely, almost inevitable that as owners register and as this site is so new that changes will occur in 2010 to improve the site's usefullness. We have plans to add new features when owner registrations are  at a reasonble level. These new features will include more information on the Body Corporate's activities, local and regional authority rating and the individual unit entitlements that are used to calculate Body Corporate Fees. Anyway those are future plans and at the moment our aim is to register owners and get feedback from them on the cost per square metre comparisons that are the current main feature of this site.
